CTE is the largest shopping center in China, where you can do business with more than 48,000 visitors. Most of them are importers, sales agents, and wholesalers and presents from all provinces of China. 60% of all visitors are responsible for Decision-making and 50% came for seeking new products and suppliers.

● How can I do if I need inward and outward exhibits at CTE?

● How can I do if I choose my own forwarder at CTE?
If you choose your own forwarder to provide logistic services to China, you also need a forwarder to deal with the logistics matter for all inward and outward exhibits in China. The SINOTRANS JINLING CO. will be in charge of Custom clearance and transportation from the port to the booth. ●Is there a place I can take a rest or meet my supplier at CTE?
Yes, we will provide the International lounge for all international visitors, which will open during the entire Fair. The international lounge allows you to communicate with your suppliers or take a break from hard work.

● What are the opening hours?
CTE will take place from Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th October 2012.

● Where is the Fair ground located?
The coming China Toy Expo will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. It is 600m away from the Longyang Rd subway station and only a 7 minutes ride by Meglev train from Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

There are three major channels to sell toys, department stores, chain toy retailers, and supermarkets
1) The big chain toy retailers are Toys R Us, Toysmart and etc.
2) The big supermarket are Wal-Mart, Carrifour, Lotus, and other Chinese chain supermarkets.

● What are the most important metropolitan areas in China to penetrate?
The first tier will be Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. The second tier will be nearly 30 capital cities of each province.

● What types of toys are most popular in China?
Any creative toys could be popular in China since Chinese people like to try something new. So far the best selling toys are mainly international brands, such as Barbie, Bandai, Transformer, Simba. Also the toys with movie will be popular too. So basically the consumption behavior of Chinese people is following US and European countries.

● What and when are the major gift giving holidays for children?
There are three main occasions for giving toys as gifts
1) Holidays, Chinese New Year, June 1st for Children day, National day, and Christmas
2) Birthday, normally it is a big event for Chinese children

● Are most toys sold directly to retailers or through wholesalers (distributors)?
International brands so far are selling toys through national distributors or national agents. Domestic brands are selling toys mainly through local distributors. It is a cost saving and effective method to sell toys through distributors in China so far.

● What are the best colors for toys and packaging? Are there any bad colors?
Generally Chinese people like bright colors. There is no any bad color. Currently, most international brands are using the same package as they used in US or Europe. They just need put on a Chinese label for important notice to Chinese consumers.

● Are there certain words or numbers that are good to use? Are there any bad ones?
In China, 6 and 8 are lucky numbers. For words it is hard to say in general. But for toys normally it is not a problem.

● What are the most popular Chinese and non-Chinese children’s characters in China?
The most popular Characters are Characters in Disney movies. There were some good canton movies in China, like Monkey King. But there is no popular toys related with the Characters.

● Is it easy for me to travel from abroad to the FAIR?
There are many direct flights from abroad to shanghai everyday, which will be easier for you to arrange the trip. Over 33 direct flights come from Paris, London, Frankfort to Shanghai while 27 direct flights from Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles. For Asian visitors, there will be much easier with over 100 direct flights to Shanghai everyday from Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok and HongKong.
